Broker's Comments

A rare opportunity to acquire a true classic of British boatbuilding. This 1970 Nelson 42 Aft Cabin is built to the renowned semi-displacement hull. The layout is designed for commercial use or a comfortable motor cruiser, she now offers excellent accommodation for family cruising or liveaboard use.

The Nelson 42 is renowned for its robust build. Originally designed for demanding service, whether pilotage, customs or workboat duties, she is built to handle inclement weather with confidence. Her semi-displacement hull provides a comfortable ride offshore yet productive performance in coastal cruising.

Timeless Aesthetic & Functional Layout
Classic Nelson styling: sweeping sheer lines, generous wheelhouse, forward plus aft cabin configuration.

Traditional craftsmanship is evident in her joinery - teak or mahogany fittings, warm wood tones, portholes and robust windows. Interior offers a pleasing mix of practicality and charm.

There are 6 berths, with a forward cabin V-berth plus a converted seating area to double berth. A spacious wheel house and an aft cabin provides two further berths / seating; galley facilities and ample storage make her suitable for extended weekends or longer cruises.

For the last 10 years this boat has been well maintained and was used by a marine company for crew training.

There is also a selection of engine spares included in the sale.

Please note: during a recent lift out Osmosis was discovered to areas of the hull.
